Ryan Berger advises employers in a wide range of employment and dismissal cases, as well as harassment and human rights complaints. Ryan assists businesses with enforcement and restrictive covenants and protection of confidential information.

Ryan is the firm’s Privacy Officer and Chair of the Privacy Committee. Ryan helps public and private sector organizations develop effective and integrated privacy compliance. This includes policies and procedures, systems and security, information sharing agreements, and access issues. Ryan has also assisted various organizations respond to inquiries by the federal and British Columbia privacy commissioners.


Andrew Schafer is a lawyer in the Labour + Employment Group. Andrew advises clients on a variety of labour and employment matters, including labour relations, human rights, workers' compensation, wrongful dismissals, unjust dismissals, employment standards, and business immigration. Andrew also prepares various labour and employment agreements such as employment contracts, confidentiality agreements, restrictive covenants, return to work agreements, and workplace policies. Andrew also assists with various corporate transactions by advising both purchasers and vendors on labour and employment due diligence matters.


Marino Sveinson  is a partner at Bull Housser in the Labour + Employment Group. He has practiced exclusively in the area of workplace law throughout his career.

Prior to joining Bull Housser in 2013 Marino was a partner at a prominent employment and labour boutique firm. Marino continues to provide strategic result-oriented advice and representation with respect to labour and employment law in unionized and non-union environments in both the provincial and federal sectors.

Marino represents employers with respect to human rights matters, wrongful dismissal matters, labour relations issues, collective agreement grievances, employment contract drafting and interpretation, privacy obligations, workers compensation, corporate restructuring and acquisitions and disputes over obligations of departing employees. He also acts as an independent investigator for harassment complaints and provides training services. Marino has represented clients at all levels of the courts in B.C., federal court, collective agreement arbitrations, human rights tribunals, provincial and federal labour relations boards, and workers compensation tribunals.
